The Transcendit team includes highly skilled individuals with vast experience of all the main types of hardware and software used in British business. We have various areas of expertise and technical excellence, enabling us to partner with some of the biggest names in IT such as Microsoft, Novell, McAfee and Oracle.
But what really makes us different is our honest approach. We will not "talk techie" and we will always be honest - about the time a project will take, about guaranteed fees, or about the scale of any problems you have. Our clients describe us as "nice to talk to", "reliable" and "always professional".
One of the founders of Transcendit, Dick is the first of us to retire. Though still a Director, he now has more time to spend on his hobbies, which include bridge, gardening, stargazing, cooking Indian food and spending time with his grandchildren.
"Dick's sense of humour, helpful attitude and skill in passing on his technical knowledge were particularly noteworthy."
Having fulfilled a variety of development, consultancy and managerial roles on both sides of the Atlantic, Adam brings a unique set of skills to our customers. An American kidnapped by a winsome Geordie, Adam has come to love the people, beer, and football of this country.
"I have been impressed by the level of commitment and professionalism he has shown towards resolving the problems that we have been experiencing."
A Consultant with over 30 years general IT experience, specialising for more than 15 years in the design, development, implementation and administration of relational database solutions. Tom is also now responsible for Transcendit's finances.
For relaxation Tom enjoys watching sport, particularly football and Liverpool FC. He tries to keep fit, is a member of local running and orienteering clubs and still plays a bit of 5-a-side football. Keeping fit means that he doesn't feel guilty about enjoying nice meals with family and friends and the odd glass of wine!
"...Tom's diligence and customer focused attitude during those often trying times..... his sheer hard work, professionalism and ability to deliver a quality product have proved invaluable."

Dr Paul Callaghan is a Ruby on Rails developer, specialising in e-Commerce applications and performance optimization. He contributed significantly to the early development of Spree, the #1 Rails e-commerce platform, and uses Spree in one of our applications. Before that, Paul was a university lecturer for 10 years, working on advanced programming techniques and natural language processing, until he taught an MSc course on Rails and decided there were more fun things to do.
Outside of work, he likes to escape to the nearest beach with his power kites, but more often than not he ends up trying to keep his three young sons out of mischief and away from any electronic equipment. He's not always successful in this.
Jonty is an enthusiastic new addition to the development team. After 20 years as a Learning Disability nurse, he now loves the challenge of solving interesting problems with Ruby, Rails and Sinatra.
In his free time watch out for him dancing with the world famous Sallyport Sword Dancers.

A graduate with a degree in Business Information Technology, Alan joined Transcendit after 6 years in the Hotel Industry where he was responsible for managing the IT Systems for a chain of 11 hotels. Katherine has over 25 years experience working in administration and banking. Following a year off to spend more time with her daughter she has returned to work in her current Administrator role with Transcendit. She likes living at the coast and spends many pleasurable hours regardless of the time of year at the beach, the rest of the time is spent socialising with her family and friends and trying to keep up with her daughter's hectic social life.
Kirk broke his first computer aged 3, fixed his first aged 6, and since the age of 13 when he took over the role of Student IT Manager/Head Student Librarian at school, he has done little other than develop computer skills. Having worked at Nectar, now Transcendit, for over 13 years, he has developed this geekyness yet further.
Other than break computer networks (“If I know what I did to break it, when a customer reports the same error, hopefully the cause will be the same.”), Kirk enjoys the traditional geeky hobbies of Dungeons & Dragons and picking continuity errors in films and sci-fi TV shows.
Christophe is one of our recent addition to the team, bringing a creative spark to our work. He has over 10 years of experience in web design and holds a Master in Electronic Media Design. Although he's French and loves fine wines and cheeses, Christophe became accustomed to local pubs, friendly pints and Cheddar.
In his spare time Christophe enjoys a bit of outdoor activities (mountain biking, walks, running), indoor activities (Volleyball, pubs & restaurants) and he's a big Formula1 fan.
Anthony was born in Canada but raised in Greece with an Italian background, bringing an international touch to the team. He left the hot climate in Greece to study at Newcastle University and liked it so much he stayed! Having studied Computer Science and E-Business, he is now applying his ambitious and hard working spirit to developing applications in Ruby on Rails.
Anthony loves travelling, his favourite island is Santorini in Greece, and his favourite city is Stockholm in Sweden. He loves cooking for his friends, he loves singing and dancing, and he works better with a full cup of coffee in his hands.
Gaynor has been working for Transcendit as a part-time receptionist/administrator since October 2013. This is a relatively new role for Gaynor as her past experiences were in the arts, namely gymnastics, acting and photography.

Support Engineer (apprentice)
Scott joined Transcendit in June 2014 after leaving school. Scott’s role within the business is an Apprentice IT Support Engineer. He is looking to complete his apprenticeship sometime in the next year or so.

Receptionist / Administrator
Diane is the newest member of our Transcendit team, she’s joined us as a part-time receptionist/administrator as of September 2014. In previous jobs Diane has been an administrator, book keeping assistant and Office Manager. Diane brings a very bubbly personality to the team and prides herself on almost military like organisation and scheduling skills!
Diane took time off work to start a family last year and has a 9 month old son Ollie. This means she doesn’t have time for any hobbies or anything other than nappies and bibs but she says she wouldn’t have it any other way.
In the little spare time she does have, she enjoys spending time with her new family and dog walks with the family Labrador Tilly.
Adam is a North East native and graduated from Newcastle University with an MSc in Computer Science.
His interest in technology, in particular computing and software and its growing role in the modern world, led him to study Computer Science and pursue a career in software development. He is enjoying the challenge of developing applications for Transcendit using Ruby and Rails.
When he isn't working he enjoys watching sport (mainly football), cooking (his favourite food being Indian) and reading (mostly biographies).
Rebecca was born and raised in Leicester, and escaped to Newcastle last year to study for an MA in Media and Journalism at Newcastle University. Now working as Transcendit’s first copywriter, her ambition is to translate ‘techno-jargon’ into understandable English for those who don’t speak fluent IT.
In her spare time, she enjoys theatre, singing and reading – although not all at the same time. She also loves baking, which she hopes will curry favour with the rest of the Transcendit team if they get annoyed with her constantly correcting their grammar.
