Build your business in 2021

Is your new year’s resolution to start a business? There are a ton of different services in the North East and around the UK to help make your idea for an organisation a reality. If you’re looking for support, funding, or just want to know how to get started.

The Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust is a charity designed to help young people find jobs and career opportunities. If you’re between the ages of 18 and 30, and looking to start a business, they offer a range of support and services.

The Prince’s Trust runs a free enterprise program for would-be entrepreneurs, which includes an initial welcome session, a four day workshop where you can speak to a business advisor, learn about business planning, marketing and sales, budgeting and taxes. You’re then paired with a mentor who will help you build your business, you have the opportunity to apply for funding, and then you present your idea to a Business Launch Group.

NBSL

NBSL is an organisation in the North East which helps people start up a business and grow an existing business. They offer workshops, one-to-one advice, funding and articles for entrepreneurs who are looking to start a business, or take theirs to the next level.

For North East businesses looking to get started, NBSL offers friendly one to one start-up mentoring. They’ve helped over 9000 people explore their business idea, with a third of them going on to plan their business start-ups with NBSL. After Year 1, 85% of businesses that started with NBSL’s help are still trading. They offer free startup workshops in Northumberland; Business Quickstep, which is about identifying your ideal customer, marketing and business finance, and Plan to Succeed, which is about business planning and strategies, as well as social media campaigns.

Enterprise Made Simple

Enterprise Made Simple is a business growth training company in the UK, and focuses on training and development to enable entrepreneurs to find solutions for their business problems, as well as the help and advice a person starting a business may need.

For those starting a business, Enterprise Made Simple offers appointments with their business advisors, who can help explore your options to get started. They also offer ongoing one-to-one support as well as a range of pre-start workshops, to help them develop initial ideas, start a business plan, thinking about business competitors and business marketing. This is ideal for those thinking about becoming self-employed, particularly for those who have a lot of questions and start-up concerns.

Think about funding

If you’re starting a business, there are a number of different loans and grants options available to you. The Transcendit Way

Transcendit understand that when you choose to work with us, whether we're taking care of your IT, app or web development, you're trusting us with part of your business. So whether we're looking after your computers, phone systems or servers we always do things 'the Transcendit way'.

The whole of our team adhere to the same values, beliefs and policies - the principles that were written when Transcendit first formed in 2000. Whether you come to us for cloud services or recovery backup you can be confident that you'll always receive the same excellent service.

The Transcendit way outlines how we do business; following the same straightforward principles with every client and customer, regardless of how big or small they may be.

That means we get to know you and your business. We offer you a friendly, professional and efficient service, and we'll always be honest with you.
We understand that not everybody speaks fluent IT, so we try to explain things in a way that is simple and clear. We always spend as much time as is necessary explaining things to you.
If you need to talk to us about something, no matter how insignificant, we are only ever a phone call away – and we’re never too busy to make you a cup of tea and have a sit down with you in person.
We understand how frustrating it can be when things are late. When we schedule an appointment with you, we are there when you’re expecting us. If something prevents us from getting there, we always call you in advance to let you know.
Sometimes things can go wrong, but we never lie to you or try to cover something up. If things go askew we tell you what’s happened and how we plan to prevent it affecting your business.
We want you to continuously benefit from working with us. We regularly discuss your business and make suggestions for improving systems and processes wherever we can – but we never try to push you into a purchase.
When we quote a fixed price, that's always the amount we charge – you won’t find any nasty surprises on a bill from us. If you are paying by time and materials, we inform you if our approximations could change.
We understand the importance of privacy for your business and your customers. We respect the confidentiality of your data, and we will never pass on your information to third parties.
We appreciate it when you take the time to give us feedback. A system called CustomerSure records our client's responses, so you can trust that our reviews are from real people.
