Give back this Christmas with these Newcastle charities

Throughout December, these charities are focusing their efforts on supporting people in Newcastle to have a more enjoyable festive period. If you’re looking for ways that you can give back this Christmas, consider donating your time or your money to one of these organisations, and help support those who need a little extra help this year.

The Sunshine Fund are bringing their Accessible Santa Grotto Bus to Newcastle City Centre, from Friday 5th December to Sunday 7th December, and the following week on Friday 12th December to Sunday 14th December. This is an accessible and inclusive grotto experience that is suitable for all ages and needs, including wheelchair access. Visits to Santa are free, and there is no booking required. The team are also happy to make adaptations for anyone who needs a little extra help or support to see Santa.

If you’d like to support the Sunshine Fund’s Accessible Santa Grotto Bus, you can do so by volunteering on the day. This will include collecting donations for the Sunshine Fund, and assisting with queue management. Those who want to volunteer can apply online, and can do so for a morning, afternoon or a full day. You can also donate directly to the Sunshine Fund. All donations go towards ‘supporting local children living with disabilities, additional needs and terminal illness.’

Changing Lives are returning to the Newcastle Cathedral Rectory on Friday 19th December, and serving Christmas dinner to, ‘individuals in Newcastle who would benefit [from] a warm meal, welcoming company and a supportive environment.’ The Changing Lives Christmas Meal Appeal will be held in Cafe 16, inside the Cathedral. They will also be ‘distributing food and toiletry parcels, as well as Christmas dinners, to those in their services across England.’

If you’d like to support the Changing Lives Christmas Meal Appeal, you can do so by donating £5 to the charity, which buys someone a hot meal and provides them with a warm space. Businesses and individuals can also download Changing Lives’ Festive Fundraising Pack, which is full of ways to fundraise for the charity, and posters for the events. You can also find their item request lists and drop off points for physical gifts.

This Christmas, Crisis will also be hosting an appeal which focuses on ‘building a life out of homelessness’. This will include ‘specialist housing sessions, wellbeing events and a range of enriching activities, focused on building connections with community and friends.’ Crisis are also donating festive hampers which will include clothing, toiletries and wellbeing items.

If you’d like to support Crisis and their Christmas Appeal, you can do so by volunteering your time. Crisis are currently looking for driver volunteers in Newcastle to deliver their festive hampers, as well as entertainment volunteers, and health and wellbeing volunteers who will complete health checks, massages, haircuts, nail services, and podiatrist services. You can apply for these volunteer positions online. You can also donate to the Crisis Christmas appeal.

The Transcendit Way

Transcendit understand that when you choose to work with us, whether we're taking care of your IT, app or web development, you're trusting us with part of your business. So whether we're looking after your computers, phone systems or servers we always do things 'the Transcendit way'.

The whole of our team adhere to the same values, beliefs and policies - the principles that were written when Transcendit first formed in 2000. Whether you come to us for cloud services or recovery backup you can be confident that you'll always receive the same excellent service.

The Transcendit way outlines how we do business; following the same straightforward principles with every client and customer, regardless of how big or small they may be.

That means we get to know you and your business. We offer you a friendly, professional and efficient service, and we'll always be honest with you.
We understand that not everybody speaks fluent IT, so we try to explain things in a way that is simple and clear. We always spend as much time as is necessary explaining things to you.
If you need to talk to us about something, no matter how insignificant, we are only ever a phone call away – and we’re never too busy to make you a cup of tea and have a sit down with you in person.
We understand how frustrating it can be when things are late. When we schedule an appointment with you, we are there when you’re expecting us. If something prevents us from getting there, we always call you in advance to let you know.
Sometimes things can go wrong, but we never lie to you or try to cover something up. If things go askew we tell you what’s happened and how we plan to prevent it affecting your business.
We want you to continuously benefit from working with us. We regularly discuss your business and make suggestions for improving systems and processes wherever we can – but we never try to push you into a purchase.
When we quote a fixed price, that's always the amount we charge – you won’t find any nasty surprises on a bill from us. If you are paying by time and materials, we inform you if our approximations could change.
We understand the importance of privacy for your business and your customers. We respect the confidentiality of your data, and we will never pass on your information to third parties.
We appreciate it when you take the time to give us feedback. A system called CustomerSure records our client's responses, so you can trust that our reviews are from real people.
