Are your kids coming to the end of their studies, entering sixth form or just starting to think about the subjects that they want to take? Or have you noticed that they might be interested in running their own business in the future? We’ve found two summer programs for young entrepreneurs, perfect for those looking for a new challenge (or something to keep them occupied) over the holidays.
The Young Entrepreneur Summer Experience, Investin
The Young Entrepreneur Summer Experience is aimed at those wanting to pursue business studies, budding entrepreneurs, and those who are thinking about a future career running their own company or organisation. The two week program will offer students between the ages of 15 and 18 the opportunity to see what life is like as an entrepreneur working from London; perfect for young people considering what they would like to do after they leave education.
Over the course of the two weeks, attendees will experience career simulations, professional site visits, and learn how to design a business strategy, marketing campaign and a FinTech app. They’ll then present their idea for a multi-billion dollar company to other entrepreneurs and investors, and receive feedback from industry professionals about how to stand out when pitching in the future. Those who complete the course will also receive a Level 3 Award in Work Experience & Career Planning, worth 8 UCAS points, and receive a certificate and industry reference letter.
Investin offers a residential package for those coming from outside of London, and an online option for those who can’t attend in person. You can also choose between their taste experience (one week only) or their full programme (two weeks). The summer school has two intakes, one from 7th July, and another from 28th July.
Camp SuperNova, Kidpreneurs
Camp SuperNova is an online camp for children between the ages of 6 and 12, designed to start building skills that entrepreneurs need to succeed. This week-long program supports children to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, whilst following the three fundamental milestones for business owners; Promises, Passion and Practice. Camp Supernova encourages children to think about entrepreneurship as something more than making money, to design and create a business that they are excited about.
Kids will learn how to develop a product or service, create a brand, design their business model, explore their target market, networking and partnerships and how to make a business environmentally friendly. Kidpreneurs also emphasises the importance of online responsibility, and how to use the internet safely. On the fourth day of Camp Supernova, children prepare their ‘power pitch’ - a pitch for a business idea that they’ve developed over the course of the previous three days. On the final day of the Camp, they can present their ideas, helping them to practice and develop their presentation and public speaking skills.
Kidpreneurs has three intakes in 2025, running from 7th - 11th July, 14th - 18th July, and 24th - 28th November. The week-long course includes 12 hours of live instruction, a camper gift box, and a personalised mentorship from the Kidpreneurs Certified Educators. If you have multiple children wanting to attend, additional siblings can register for 50% off.
