It’s officially spooky season, and whether you’re heading off trick or treating, having a cosy night in whilst the kids are out, or spending October focusing on yourself, we’ve found three great apps to make this Halloween the best one yet.
For kids, often the best part of Halloween is, of course, trick or treating. Whilst getting dressed up and knocking on doors is fun for children, it’s sometimes difficult to know which homes are excited to take part in the festivities, and which would prefer you go somewhere else. Next Door’s Treat Map App is a way of tracking which houses are taking part in trick or treating, before you get to the doorstep.
This requires a little bit of planning to get your neighbourhood involved, but homes can add their details to the Treat Map for your area, so that you know they’re ready for spooky visitors. For those trick or treating, you can use the map to plan a route, see what’s on offer, and even check out the businesses that are taking part.
For older children who don’t want their parents tagging along for their trick or treating, or Halloween plans, we’d recommend trying Life360. This is a family tracking app which provides you with real time updates of where your kids are off to, as well as one touch check-ins, so there’s no need to call when they miss a text. You can even set up an alert when their battery is low.
The app is available for free, and comes with 2 days of location history. If you go for their silver, gold or platinum plan, you’ll also get access to a stored location history, so you can see where everyone has been for up to 30 days. Life360 also comes with Crash Detection for drivers, and Emergency Dispatch when a crash is detected. On the gold and platinum plans, you can also see driving stats and summaries, nationwide free towing and breakdown coverage.
If you’re all in on Halloween, your workout should be spooky too. Zombies, Run! is a novel in a running app, where you’re one of a team of survivors within a zombie outbreak. You play as Runner 5, and your job is to run across the city, gathering supplies, rescuing other survivors and trying to keep out of the zombies’ clutches. The GPS keeps track of your pace, all you need to do is run.
However, despite being called Zombies, Run! there’s no need to run if you don’t want to. You set the pace for the adventure, so you can walk, train outside or inside, whatever works for you. The app even works with your own playlists, so you can listen to your music on your journey; every now and again your ‘radio’ will kick in, and you’ll hear a new part of the story. It’s the perfect way for making those autumnal workout sessions a little more scary.
Transcendit understand that when you choose to work with us, whether we're taking care of your IT, app or
web development, you're trusting us with part of your business. So whether we're looking after your
computers, phone systems or servers we always do things 'the
Transcendit way'.
The whole of our team adhere to the same values, beliefs and policies - the principles that were written
when Transcendit first formed in 2000. Whether you come to us for cloud services or recovery backup you
can be confident that you'll always receive the same excellent service.
The Transcendit way outlines how we do business; following the same straightforward principles with every
client and customer, regardless of how big or small they may be.
We understand that not everybody speaks fluent IT, so we try to explain things in a way that is
simple and clear. We always spend as much time as is necessary explaining things to you.
If you need to talk to us about something, no matter how insignificant, we are only ever a phone
call away – and we’re never too busy to make you a cup of tea and have a sit down with you in
person.
We understand how frustrating it can be when things are late. When we schedule an appointment with
you, we are there when you’re expecting us. If something prevents us from getting there, we always
call you in advance to let you know.
Sometimes things can go wrong, but we never lie to you or try to cover something up. If things go
askew we tell you what’s happened and how we plan to prevent it affecting your business.
We want you to continuously benefit from working with us. We regularly discuss your business and
make suggestions for improving systems and processes wherever we can – but we never try to push
you into a purchase.
When we quote a fixed price, that's always the amount we charge – you won’t find any nasty
surprises on a bill from us. If you are paying by time and materials, we inform you if our
approximations could change.
We understand the importance of privacy for your business and your customers. We respect the
confidentiality of your data, and we will never pass on your information to third parties.
We appreciate it when you take the time to give us feedback. A system called CustomerSure records
our client's responses, so you can trust that our reviews are from real people.
