Transcendit are pleased to announce FACT's Big Build, a huge funding drive by FACT to build the UKs first cancer support, awareness and education centre. The new centre will be built here in the North East, and Transcendit are working with FACT to help raise the funding they'll need.
'We've always had a very close relationship with FACT,' says Dave Scott, one of Transcendit's Directors. 'The work they do for people in and around the North East who have been diagnosed with cancer is just incredible, and can be an absolute lifeline for some people who need that support.'
'Transcendit have done a few fundraising drives for them previously, most notably our zip-line across the Tyne river - which was a terrifying but very rewarding experience! Our IT support technicians and web developers raised over one thousand pounds for the organisation, and had a lot of fun in the process.'
'We're delighted to be on the funding committee for FACT's latest venture, and we're looking forward to seeing how this project develops,' says Dave. 'We have no doubt that it will be a success, but FACT can only make this huge contribution to the community with a little help from all of us.'
Transcendit are encouraging everyone to sign up to one of FACT's membership clubs. The High 5 Club Membership is a pledge to raise £5000 over 12 months, and the 500 Club Membership is a pledge to raise £500 over 12 months. There is a club for everyone, including businesses and individuals.
All the money raised will go towards building the new centre; providing invaluable resources and support to cancer patients and their families, as well as creating volunteering, employment and training opportunities for local people and organisations.
'There are a huge range of perks for businesses who sign up, like first aid at work courses, workplace counselling, and free places in FACT's run and WIGWALK to help them fundraise,' says Dave.
'But fundraising together also has a huge effect on your business. When the whole team is getting involved, and working towards a common goal - it's just so rewarding. It's great to be a part of something bigger than your business.'
